Kingston HyperX 4 GB Kit (2x2 GB Modules) 1600 MHz DDR3 KHX1600C8D3K2/4GX Reviews

Great RAM 2/20/2010
By kevin

Pros: This is great RAM. It did default to 1333 with timings of 9-9-9-24 and 1.5 voltage when used in my MSI GD65 motherboard, but that's okay though... A lower default speed with loose timings equal assured RAM stability on a new system build. Anyway, simply going into the BIOS and turning on XMP causes it to automatically be set at 1600 8-8-8-23 1.65 volts. I've thoroughly tested it and it's rock solid stable at those settings. I have clocked it up much higher and with tighter timings and it accepted them and booted up fine, but I haven't stress tested at those settings yet, so I won't mention specifics.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I'm running an Intel i5-750 Quad CPU, an MSI P55 GD65 motherboard, an ATI/AMD 5770 graphic card, and 4 gigs(2 x 2GB sticks) of this Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600 RAM.

Where to Buy

faster than ddr 333 and my P4 at 2.2ghz

Pros: Runs at 1680mhz at 8-8-8-20 timings... Stable.... It is very good ram... I plan on getting another 4gb to get 8gb total on my Phenom II 965 platform.. I am at 206 on bus speed. I have a xigmatek hdt-s1283 and it fits under the heatsink with about a 1/4 inch.. so dont worry about it..

Cons: NOT 1

Other Thoughts: Phenom II 965 RB-C2 ( 3.91ghz)
4gb Hyperx 1600 cl8
5770 (core 950 memory 1300)
twin dvd rw+
xigmatek hdt-s1283
Biostar ta790gx
only 2 80mm exhaust fans
bfgtech 750w psu
1tb hitatchi hd
(after rebates only spent $626.43.. mobo and cpu combo kit at Fryss electronical only 199)....
