Ram works fine with i3-540, even it says for i5.

I easily overclocked it to 1820MHZ(maybe higher, but it is enough to me) and finish the torture test, however, the voltage had to be set to 1.66v (no rated 1.65v option on my MB), otherwise, it will cause BSOD.
Another thing, this ram is not low voltage one like the recommended RAM voltage for i3-540: around 1.5v, it actually is not for i3 and i5 etc. Well, nobody cares Intel's recommendation though. Also the voltage for i3 needs to be increased too, so that the difference between I3 and ram is less than 0.4v, otherwise it may damage the processor.
